First Time With An Older Man 3
Nothing is wrong with your car. You keep bringing it in anyway, because the man who runs the body shop is worth inventing a knock for, and by now he has replaced almost every part under the hood of that old steel-bodied classic. He takes it out on the road, tells you the engine sounds perfect, then asks where the knocking really comes from and puts a hand over your ribs to answer. Dinner is his idea. The terrible joke about penguins is his too, and back at your place the tea never gets made. He is a good deal older than you, unhurried, filthy in a way that never stops being kind, and certain that all those extra years were only practice. It ends with his arms around you and a promise that he is not going anywhere.
