Sunday service is over and the church is emptying — the last of the congregation walked out to their cars, hymnals going back into their rows. You are still there when he turns around: the parish priest, the man you have been watching from the pews all year. He offers you the confessional, because that is what he offers everyone. Inside it, the sin you have come to name is him. He tries to pass you to another priest and fails. What he offers instead is a kind of therapy — say the temptation out loud, give it a voice — and then, when a voice turns out not to be enough, he has you show him. He absolves nothing.
